If the name rings a bell, you may have seen Montrachet’s owner/master chef Shannon Kellam guest star on, wait for it… MasterChef Australia. His passion for creating beautiful dishes is shared with all of Montrachet’s chefs, resulting in equally delicious and good-looking dishes available for your pleasure.
You’re probably thinking, “great - star chefs and top tier meals, that’s going to test the ol’ wallet.” Plot twist - it’s more affordable than you think!
Before walking you through must-try dishes, here’s what you’ll be walking in to. Every staff member at Montrachet prides themselves on upholding stellar service, which is why your visit will begin with a warm greeting, and end with a heartfelt farewell (aka, see you next time… because you’ll want to return). This standard saw Montrachet awarded the Best Service in Queensland at last year’s Courier Mail Food Awards!
Contributing to an all-round seamless experience are little notes of luxury, from the crisp linen tablecloths and napkins to bottomless baskets of freshly baked bread. Speaking of bread, let’s tuck into the menu.
The menu is pleasantly extensive with every dish handmade on site, tending to every foodie craving from appetisers to dessert (think fine dining meets a bistro menu). To keep lunch and dinner interesting, the menu changes seasonally - although there are a number of regular favourites that you MUST get your hands on.
Disguised as an entrée, Montrachet’s crab soufflé can easily double as a main. The epitome of comfort food - the double-baked soufflé with crab meat and gruyère cheese, finished with a light cream bisque, is just $28.50. Oui are a little obsessed with this one!
Meat lovers rejoice - a gorgeous 200g cut of Stockyard’s Black Angus eye fillet served with salad, homemade French fries and your choice of sauce comes to $39.50. But, is it free of GMOs and antibiotics? Of course! You can rest easy knowing that Montrachet only sources the best ingredients for you.
It wouldn’t be a French feast without crème brûlée! End your visit on a sweet note for $9.90 (and smile when that sugar disc snaps at the hit of your spoon).
Besides dinner (and special occasions), Montrachet is also open for weekday lunches. We couldn’t think of anything better than a relaxed lunch away from the office! Take us with you on your next visit?
If you’re wanting to add some wining to your dining after work, Montrachet is only a 7-minute drive from Brisbane’s CBD (less than 2kms)! Have your rideshare app at the ready, or feel free to drive straight into the complimentary car parking behind Montrachet. Or park in the King St Car Park in Machinery Street.
