Jazz Music Institute
Did you know that the precinct is home to one of Australia’s best regarded musical institutes, the Jazz Music Institute (JMI)? Endorsed by some of the greatest jazz musicians in history including John Scofield, Wynton Marsalis and Dave Liebman, the iconic Brisbane institute is renowned for its intimate setting, a unique jazz curriculum and incredible acoustics.

Bringing together jazz lovers and musicians from all around Australia, the JMI regularly host jam sessions to showcase live jazz music right here on King Street’s doorstep.

The Tivoli
Affectionately called, The Tiv, the iconic 102-year-old performing arts venue is undoubtedly Brisbane’s most treasured musical backdrops, with stunning art deco features and old-world charm.

Host to some of the country’s most prolific artists and memorable gigs, The Tiv has played a significant role in taking Brisbane’s music scene to the global stage. Showcasing the best local and international tours each week, there is always a musical experience to be had inside. If walls could talk (or sing), we’d want to hear The Tiv’s on full volume.
