October on King St: Good Times, Great Causes, and a Splash of Sparkle
October is here, and King St is lighting up with lively beats, indulgent bites, and plenty of reasons to get out and enjoy the spring vibes. From ooey-gooey cheese wheel pasta nights and live music filling the street to supporting worthy causes with games and bowling, there’s something for everyone. Add a touch of fizz for Global Champagne Day and a splash of colour for Day of the Dead, and you’ve got a month packed with flavour, fun, and festivities.
From Monday 13 to Sunday 19 October, Strike Bowling Bar and Archie Brothers are coming together in support of headspace and youth mental health. For every activity booked, $1 per person will be donated to help young people through tough times. That means the more fun you have, the more support goes back to this important cause. Whether you’re rolling into a game of bowling at Strike, testing your skills in Archie Brothers’ arcade, or just soaking up the good vibes, it’s a big cause and an even bigger week of fun.
Music on the Street
Enjoy live music on King St this October with local artists setting the vibe every Thursday to Saturday from 6 to 9pm. Sit back outside your favourite King St retailers, sip on a drink, savour delicious eats and let the tunes carry you through the night.
Cheese Wheel Night at Il Verde
If you are a cheese lover, this one is pure heaven. On the first and third Wednesday of every month, Il Verde brings out the giant wheel of parmesan and tosses fresh house-made pasta through it right at your table. The result is creamy, cheesy, melt-in-your-mouth perfection that is as fun to watch as it is to eat. Pair it with a glass of Italian wine and you have got yourself the ultimate midweek indulgence.
Pre-festival Feasting before Fridayz Live
Fridayz Live returns to Brisbane on Friday October 17 with some of the world’s biggest artists and generation-defining anthems. Make a night of it on King St before or after the show. Grab a bite at your favourite spot, enjoy a drink with friends, and soak up the lively atmosphere that makes King St the place to be.
The fourth Friday of October, Friday 24 October, is Global Champagne Day, and what better way to celebrate than with a French feast at Montrachet. Sip on fine bubbly while indulging in classic French flavours, from rich cheeses and charcuterie to exquisite mains and decadent desserts. It’s the perfect opportunity to gather friends, toast to the good times, and soak up the sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere that Montrachet does best. Treat yourself to a night of sparkling celebrations and French flair.
From 20 October to 2 November, El Camino’s Day of the Dead Fiesta is back, and it’s bigger, bolder and spicier than ever. Fiesta de Vida combines playful Halloween chaos with the vibrant spirit of Día de los Muertos, bringing themed food, cocktails and lively vibes across two huge weeks. On the menu, you’ll find spooky specials like the Tex-Mex Monster, Corn Carnage, Freaky Fried Chicken and cocktails mixed with flair. Feature days not to miss include Tacos, Tequila and Tats on Tuesdays 21 and 28 October, and Wicked Wing Wednesdays on 22 and 29 October 22. No tricks, only treats. Book now to join the fiesta.
